Salsa Sauce – Vegan + Gluten-free

Ingredients
30g Chinese Sweet and Sour Chicken Sauce Mix
70g tomato paste
100ml fresh orange juice
200ml water
1 red onion – diced
1 red capsicum – diced
Coconut oil
5g salt
5g sugar substitute (erythritol, coconut sugar, natural sweeteners)
5g chili flakes or powder, or fresh
5g garlic powder
5g black pepper
5g oregano
5g basil
Method
Step 1
In a large bowl combine Chinese Sweet and Sour Sauce Mix, salt, sugar substitute, chili
flakes, garlic powder, black pepper, oregano, basil.
Add water, fresh orange juice, tomato paste and mix well together.
Set aside.
Step 2
Heat the coconut oil in a medium pan oner medium heat.
Add diced onion and capsicum – cook for 5 minutes or until softens.
Step 3
Add the mixture to the pan and cook it while continuously stirring until becomes thick.
Step 4
Set aside to cool down.
Serve it with corn chips or spread it over the vegie patties in a bun.
Refrigerate in an airtight container.
